Musical Connections is a language-based music program created by Cindy Ulrich. Musical Connections integrates auditory, visual and motor modalities through music, sign language and movement. Music stimulates the brain allowing both hemispheres to be engaged simultaneously; a unique and vital benefit, which promotes the development of receptive and expressive language in early childhood.
Musical Connections encourages self-expression, wonder, imagination and confidence in an inclusive environment where children feel an innate sense of belonging.
It is not a traditional music experience. With Musical Connections, the children are invited to use music to explore their curiosity about the world around them. The children are actively engaged in learning through the use of:
Building skills in receptive/expressive language. Using rhythm and expression to build confidence. Increasing memory skills through repeated patterns.
Using imagination and creative play to facilitate wonder and surprise.
Integrating sensory modalities while enriching language with the use of sign language.
Developing gross motor skills through movement and motion.
Music allows self-expression, builds confidence and is innately loved by children. You are invited to share the passion of music with your young learners.
